A South Dakotan mailman made a startling discovery that made his blood chill.
He noticed a newborn puppy that had been abandoned in the street while making his rounds.
When the postman saw the puppy, he understood that he needed to act quickly to save the animal's life. Although he wanted to take the dog to a safer location, the postal worker was unable to leave his job.
But, as revealed by The Dodo, the man decided to do something for the animal. “He took the puppy on the delivery ride.”
The postman put the puppy in a box intended for carrying mail, and together they delivered mail, parcels, and news to the locals.
"The pup showed his appreciation by helping him finish delivering the mail," Azure Davis, director of Ruff Start Rescue.
He was ''dangerously dehydrated'' Postman hurried to the vet for a thorough examination after the round was finished. Fortunately, the puppy was healthy and free of wounds, but his dehydration was dangerous.
In less than three days, the association received the first adoption application, and within a few weeks, he was already savoring the comfort of a home.
