The world isn't without flaws. Despite the fact that we all deserve love, care, and a safe haven, not everyone receives these things. Some individuals have a lot of heart, yet they nevertheless diҽ or live in anguish every day because they can't completely solve their problems.
The world is flawed; there are problems that appear to be insurmountable; and no matter how hard we try, someone will always be dissatisfied. This, however, is meaningless when you discover the type of person you genuinely want to be.

Dejan and Svetlana, a loving mother and son team, have made it their life's mission to make the world a better place. Over the past two decades, they have rescued over a thousand canines, many of which are currently residing in an enclosure at their sanctuary with plenty of room for all these wonderful pals!
Dejan and Svetlana began doing good by feeding stray dogs in their hometown of Cumic. The villagers enjoyed these acts of kindness, and as a consequence, people began to form opinions on what types of activities should be conducted next, and with this came additional resources, which meant even greater things could be done!

The development of this refuge, known as "the Vucjak Shelter," was the culmination of many people's years of hard work. Years passed, and after Svetlana died, Dejan resolved to carry on their common legacy by working alone. He had always been an animal lover, therefore it was only natural for him to accept this duty! However, operating the shelter wasn't simple, not just because there were so many animals at once (and before you realized it), but also because there was no support available—which meant a lot of labor for someone who needed rest just like anybody else...
"My mum initiated all of this in 1997. We spotted one puppy that needed care and took him home with us - that's how it began! She merely wanted to make sure an innocent puppy was secure until his owner came seeking for him.

"We were closest friends by then," Dejan said of their friendship to Bored Panda. "She showed me what it meant to never give up on yourself because anybody can be your biggest fan if they want something bad enough." While discussing concerns, there was frequently laughter as well as tears during the conversation.
Dejan noted that the shelter is now dealing with challenges such as preparing and caring for 1000 dogs for the winter. He also stated that they receive numerous calls every day since the stray dog population is an issue in Serbia, where people leave their dogs every day, without knowing what will happen or if those animals would survive after being abandoned.

Despite the fact that the wolves are now under attack, Dejan has made it his goal to defend them. To do this, he delivers fresh meat whenever feasible and argues for its safety with other locals in order to persuade people that it should remain pristine in order not to upset the balance or environment.
Unfortunately, Dejan's shelter would not be able to exist without assistance. Many expenditures are linked with maintaining such an operation, and they are always increasing because to the requirements of their ever-growing population - especially during the cold months when people stop providing food or money since it becomes too tough for them! But, because to the generosity of people who see the value of these animals, they've worked together to ensure their survival.

Last but not least, Dejan has demonstrated his commitment to the cause he has chosen. "I want to state unequivocally that I will fight for animals until the day I diҽ because it is a part of who I am." He is carrying on what Svetlana started, and after her dҽath, he took up weapons against these injustices since that is how they both wanted things done. That is their legacy.
